Janitors, like most other staff members, will flee from danger. This can be changed in the deploymentsection. Note that prisoners will be unable to clean in areas marked as staff-only. They continue to do this until their area is clean or until the regime for work ends for the day. They will then grab a mop and wipe the floors of your prison. To lighten the workload of a janitor, you can assign prisoners to the same job by recruiting them via the cleaning cupboards in your prison. deliveries, exports and/or storage, but will mainly reside in a cleaning cupboard if one is available. Janitors may reside in other areas of your prison, e.g. Redistribute washed, ironed uniforms to cells using laundry baskets. Place dirty uniforms in laundry machines. Collect dirty prison uniforms from cells and place them in laundry baskets. 
Janitors go a long way to satiating the environmental needs of your prisoners and staff.Īside from mopping the floors of your facility, janitors will also work in your laundry rooms to provide fresh clothing for your inmates.
The bigger the prison and the higher the number of entities there are in said prison, the more janitors you will need to hire to ensure your facility is kept at an appropriate level of cleanliness. Janitors will mop and clean grime, stains, cracks, blood, vomit, fecal matter, urine, mud, footprints and other undesirable substances that accumulate on your facility's floors over time.
